Emotional Assessments

Emotional AssessmentsChildren are frequently referred for poor behavior and emotional outbursts that are causing stress and upheaval at home. I make use of a range of quantitative and projective tools to explore the emotional functioning of children who may be using bad behavior to communicate their needs. An assessment looks at early childhood development, past traumas, emotional development and emotional literacy, self esteem and self concept, faulty cognitions, coping strategies and child discipline strategies used in the home. An emotional assessment may focus on the effects of divorce on children, delays in social development, bullying, anxiety, withdrawal, school refusal, sibling rivalry, aggressive outbursts, bedwetting or inappropriate touch.
